What is stopping you from being your best self?

The answer is you! Yes, that’s right, you hold the power.

What does it mean to be your best self?

It means living life with intention, direction, purpose and within your own moral compass. Living your best life as you are and accepting yourself as is while striving to be the best you. There is only this one life and you are unique in your own design. Accepting yourself for who you are, what you like, what you enjoy and who you enjoy spending time with and not letting the judgement of others direct your intentions.

We all have our own Journey and along the way people join us. Some stay, some leave, some we remove and others we mourn. These people affect us in ways we don’t even realize, starting from childhood till today. It is important to remain focused on your own resolve and know that you are here to be you and not what others want you to be.

If people that are on your Journey with you don’t accept you, let them go. Never be anything other than who you are.

Focus on being the best version of yourself, always!

Focus on who you want to be. Take part in the development of your strengths and be proud of what makes you uniquely you. You are amazing and we are all a work in progress, with the right steps you can work towards being your best self every day.

Visualize Yourself

To determine what the best you looks like, you must know yourself, inside and out.

This is your life, not someone else’s so do not design a life after another person. Be unique.

Be mindful of how you respond to certain situations.

  • What are your habits?
  • What makes you tick?
  • What upsets and frustrates you?
  • How do you manage stress?
  • What empowers you?

Journal your feelings for a week and see what you determine about yourself.

Live in and be Mindful of the Present

So many of us are living in the past and the future all at the same time. I have been very guilty of this. When my mind starts to drift off either to the past or the future I try to tell myself “be here now”. Its a good practice but know it takes time and commitment to stay focused in the present moment.

Our minds can be our biggest asset and detriment, its important to try to stay on top of your thoughts so you don’t let them take over.

The past is gone, you cannot change it and the future hasn’t arrived yet.

Be here now!

Shift your focus and perspective

Perspective is everything!

What we think about, we bring about.

So focusing on a positive outcome is critical to the situation you are dealing with and perspective helps to shift your mindset so you do not go into situations expecting a negative outcome. When you shift your focus and perspective to the positive you see things in a totally different way, its pretty amazing.

Be accountable

Being accountable is critical in every area of our lives and can be a lifeline for a healthy relationship. Being accountable means you are willing to accept fault, take action and make change with your part in a situation or encounter.

This is huge.
