Wholesome eating

This page is dedicated to a chosen recipe of the week. I would love to receive YOUR recipe ideas so I can share them with other people who are looking for new and creative healthy eating ideas. Please submit your recipe ideas to aveshaempower@gmail.com. The requirements are simple, it must be something healthy, primarily organic and completely original.

This weeks recipe is….

Organic dog treats!

  • 2 heaping scoops of peanut butter
  • 1 avocado
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup gram or oat flower
  • 2 shaved carrots

Cut and pit the avocado and scoop out the fruit and put into a mixing bowl. Add 1/2 of the flour, one egg and a scoop of peanut butter and mix together until blended.

Repeat with the flour, egg and remaining peanut butter and mix until blended. Add shaved carrots and blend.

Scoop the mixture (which will be very sticky) onto a baking sheet and flatten. OR you can roll out like dough onto parchment paper and cut out into your favorite shapes.

Either way, once on baking sheet, bake for 20 minutes and then open the oven door until it cools down a bit and bake for 5 more minutes and then remove from oven and let cool.

The thinner the cookie the crunchier it will be. I tend to like soft treats because they crumble less and its easier on their teeth.

This recipe, depending on the size of the biscuits you are making can make up to 24 cookies.
